Lithium Thionyl Chloride
What are Lithium Thionyl Chloride Batteries?
The lithium thionyl chloride (Li-SOCI2) battery utilizes a liquid cathode with limited gas emissions and is often suitable for extreme temperatures ranging from -55C to +130C. They're best used in low-current devices, and can have as much as a 35,000mah capacity.
Lithium-Thionyl Chloride cells have a large energy density and are normally used in commercial and industrial applications. Typically they have three times the energy density than Alkaline batteries. They also have a relatively high internal impedance and limited short-circuit current. Lithium-Thionyl Chloride batteries are generally used in industrial, commercial, and medical applications.
