DD Sized Batteries
Unique Size and Chemistry
DD batteries are a unique size and typically features a Lithium Thionyl Chloride (LiSOCl2) chemistry. Despite how technical the name sounds, Lithium Thionyl Chloride is an extremely stable chemistry which helps limit any voltage delay in colder temperatures and makes the battery more reliable. Additionally, these batteries typically have a low-self discharge rate and extremely lengthy shelf lives. One specification that helps these DD replacement batteries stand out against the rest is their extremely wide operating temperature - from -67°F to 185°F (-55°C to 85°C). This is one of the largest recorded operating temperatures for Primary batteries, making them the ideal choice for military and tactical users. DD sized batteries can be difficult to come by, but are used in a surprisingly large variety of electronics.
Large Variety of Uses
Largely used by military and other tactical users, DD primary batteries are built to last through the toughest of situations. With the wide operating temperature range and the typical length of 4.9" these batteries will fit a pretty large variety of electronic devices including: flashlights, large communication devices, invisible fencing, RFID Tracking, Location Beacons, and a whole lot more. You name almost any large technical industry and there is a good chance you will find a need for some replacement DD batteries.
